Dormay Street

Site information

This site will be used to connect the existing local combined sewer overflow (CSO) to the main tunnel. It is also used to drive a long connection tunnel southwards to King George’s Park and northwards to Carnwath Road Riverside, to connect the CSOs at Dormay Street and King George’s Park to the main tunnel. This connection tunnel is known as the Frogmore connection tunnel.

Dormay Street

Charlotte, our Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM), began her journey towards King George's Park in March 2019. When she reaches King George’s Park, she will be taken out, driven back to Dormay Street, where she will be lowered to complete her journey to Carnwath Road Riverside.

As the final phase of piling for the interception chamber was completed in June 2019, in July the site team began excavating the chamber.

For more information, look at the latest CLWG presentation on the tab below.
