School visits

Welcome to the Tunnelworks school visits area.

Tideway is an historic project with the potential to inspire a whole new generation of professionals in engineering and construction. Giving pupils in the local boroughs where the Thames Tideway Tunnel is going through the chance to engage with staff members is key to this process.

STEM Ambassadors and events
Tideway has a diverse group of STEM (Science, technology, engineering and maths) ambassadors available to work with local schools. Our STEM ambassadors are prepared to deliver hands-on activities, talks, careers information and mentoring. To find out more or to request further support with a STEM or careers event, please click here to open an email.

Work Experience
For 16+ students interested in getting an inside knowledge to careers in engineering and construction, Tideway offers one week placements to gain work experience on the project with engineers and other employees. For more information on how to apply, please click here to open an email.

Row4Results (R4R) is an indoor rowing programme and inter-borough school competition across London. It brings 12 schools in boroughs that border the River Thames into a competition which will lead to one school being named Row4Results Champions. R4R is a schools project run jointly by London Youth Rowing and Tideway which aims to engage students with rowing and increase their appreciation of the River Thames.
