As Tideway finishes work in King George’s Park, we will hand over sections of our site to Wandsworth Council. The first section of land that will open up to the public will include the area of new planting, avenue of trees and new entrance way to the park.
Surfacing works on the egg-shaped area are taking place. This block paving are will capture surface water and discharge it into the new Sustainable Urban Drainage (SUDs) retention area within the park. The work taking place includes:
- laying of paving blocks
- cutting of some blocks to enable the correct installation
- lifting of equipment and movement of materials
The egg-shaped area is required by Tideway until 2025. It will continue to be hoarded off as we undertake testing of the sewer system. Once our testing work is completed this area will also be opened up to the public.
