Hammersmith Pumping Station

Hammersmith Pumping Station is an existing Thames Water pumping station site. The proposed site covers the pumping station and part of the Fulham Reach development (currently under construction) and minor highway works. The site will be used to intercept the existing Hammersmith Pumping Station combined sewer overflow.

Christmas Working Hours
Over the Christmas period there will be no construction works taking place.

24 Hour Working
In  June, we start 24-hour working which will last for approximately five months.

Our standard working hours are (with a 1-hour mobilisation period before and after these times):

  • Monday – Friday: 8am – 6pm

  • Saturday: 8am – 12 midday

Additionally, we have maintenance periods on the weekend:

  • Saturday: 1 – 5pm

  • Sunday: 10am – 4pm.

We will be working 24-hours a day for approximately nine months. This is be taking place predominantly underground as we construct our tunnel.

On average, we have approximately six heavy goods vehicles accessing the site. More up to date information about the vehicle movements can be found within the CLWG presentations.

Our Hammersmith team are committed to managing our works and mitigating any impacts. Examples of measures we currently have in place include:

  • The contractor liaising and coordinating with the Fulham Reach Developer regarding community liaison and communications with local residents and stakeholders

  • Hoarding which has been erected along the site boundary

  • The site offices are positioned along the northern boundary of the site to screen Chancellor’s Road from construction activities

  • The use of surface cranes are minimised outside of standard working hours

  • Limits have been set to control activities, such as noise (Section 61 approval) from LB Hammersmith and Fulham

  • Call our 24 hour Tideway Helpdesk 08000 30 80 80 or email [email protected].

  • Take a moment to read the latest updates on the noticeboards on our hoardings.

  • Visit Tideway's Community Information Centre at Carnwath Road, the first Tuesday of the month, 3pm – 7pm. Our team will be able to answer your questions and talk about the work.

  • Join our regular Community Liaison Working Group meetings, to attend the meetings or receive the minutes and presentations from past meetings, email [email protected]. Meeting details will be emailed, published online and on site hoardings.
