There will be a cleaner, healthier river following completion of the tunnel but we also want to deliver a lasting legacy for London created from the long-term benefits that Tideway will bring.
These benefits will start in the early stages of project delivery with programmes for community investment, education and social responsibility, which will boost the social and economic wellbeing of Londoners and their communities. Four thousand direct, sustainable jobs will be created in relation to tunnel construction and there will be a skills legacy in engineering, river transport and many other areas.
